Here’s Neptune for you 🌌
About Neptune:
Neptune is the 8th and farthest planet from the Sun in our solar system. It’s an ice giant, about 17 times more massive than Earth, and famous for its deep blue color. That blue comes from methane gas in its atmosphere absorbing red light.
A few cool facts:
- Windiest planet: It has storms with winds over 2,100 km/h — faster than any other planet.
- Cold: Average temperature is around -214°C. Brrr.
- Moons: It has 14 known moons. Triton is the biggest, and it even orbits backward compared to Neptune’s rotation.
- Far away: Light from the Sun takes over 4 hours to reach Neptune. One year there = 165 Earth years.
Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft that’s flown by Neptune, back in 1989. That’s where most of our close-up pictures come from.
Want me to make a version of Neptune with its rings and moons too, or maybe Neptune as seen from a spaceship window?
